Meet Ms. Mitchell!

Ms. Mitchell had a rigorous musical education in Lynchburg, Virginia when she was growing up, performing with her middle and high school bands, marching band, community orchestra, and multiple honor bands up and down the East Coast. Ms. M completed her Bachelor of Music in 2023 and her Master of Education in 2024, both at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. She is a classically-trained bassoonist who has performed in orchestras and wind band groups across the United States, in Italy, and in Colombia. She also served as a Guest Conductor of the Vanderbilt Wind Symphony in the Fall of 2023.

Ms. Mitchell joined the NGMS Band family in July 2024.

When she's not in the band room, you can find her rehearsing with her performance groups (including the Triangle Pride Band), exploring Raleigh with friends, or at home cuddling her two cats, Luna and Celeste.
